Director
The Director usually selects
the play of their choice as it is essential they have a "vision" of the final product. The director casts the play, conducts scene rehearsals with the actors,
and is the creative director for all technical aspects including set design, sound, lights, etc. Interested individuals who have no
prior directing experience are encouraged to first get involved in one of the other production roles or to Assistant Direct.
Stage Manager The stage manager
attends all rehearsals and becomes intimately
acquainted with the show. During performance, the
stage manager "calls the show" which
means it is this individual who decides
when the curtain goes up, when sound and
light queues should occur, etc. During performances, the Director
is excused to go bite fingernails
and the stage manager becomes the boss!
Set Design /
Construction
Set
Design makes sure our actors
have a set upon which to tell their story.
Our sets can be as simple as a few boxes on
stage or as elaborate as this person envisions!
Construction folks help us build things
that we may need like doors, windows -- even
rocks!
Costume / Sewing
Our actors will need to be clothed in manners
consistent with the play and their individual characters. Usually it means rummaging through closets but sometimes it may involve some sewing. The odd
time you may be required during the day depending on other resources to have fittings with the actors.

Producer
The producer looks after
the administrative aspects of mounting a production. This includes managing the budget, liaising with production departments to monitor schedules, liaising
with volunteers, and communicating with parents as needed.
Properties
This person identifies all the props the actors will use in the play and sets out to find them! You will interface with either
the director, producer, or stage manager as rehearsals progress.
Sound & Light
Our tech folks are responsible for sourcing the sound and lighting needed, helping to set it up at performance time, and running the queues during the performance. It's a
lot of fun because you get to see the show and experience first-hand how your sound/lights augment the mood of the scene! Some daytime
activity occurs during performance week.
