October 2006 - Holka Polka Makes Magic!
When you look in
the mirror, what do you see?
Our self-image is such an amazingly powerful thing.
And yet in spite of that power, it is so vulnerable to what
others tell us about ourselves. Are we sweet? or
sour? Are we pretty? or ugly? And at the end of
the day, does it really matter how others see us?
The story of Holka Polka is a fun journey through a magical
land where witches, wizards, and royalty come together to
solve a mystery: Who cast the sleeping spell on the
Prince? Through the course of solving the mystery we
meet delightful characters who come to terms with who they
really are. Wolf (who is a highly misunderstood creature
who swears he doesn’t really eat people) discovers that humans
can actually be quite heartwarming. Cindy is a princess
who believes she’s ugly - but she eventually realizes that
what counts is what’s on the inside! And Brenda - the
sweetest witch of all - discovers an inner strength she never
knew she had. A strength that we all have in our own
special ways.
